San Diego Mom, Hollie Hibbard Starts the new year "Better Than Ever" following her Extreme Mommy Makeover! As a young child, Hollie Hibbard was overweight and chronically teased by her peers. Naturally outgrowing her weight issues around the age of twelve, she continued to suffer from body dismorphic disorder, and low self-esteem, unable to let go of the feelings that she experienced as a child. Hollie's feelings of self hatred peaked after the birth of her second child, where she topped over 200 pounds. Having two beautiful and healthy children, yet feeling depressed and unworthy, she was overwhelmed with feelings of guilt. She slipped into a deep yet secret post-partum depression, feeling worthless and ugly, desperately trying to hold it together for her family and husband. Haunted by chronic fears that her husband, a San Diego marine who recently served in Iraq, would abandon her and convinced she was a failure as a mother and wife, Holly tried various anti-depressants with no benefit. After running 6 half marathons and ultimately the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon, Hollie's weight began to shed and Holly ultimately lost 70 pounds. An inspiration for her husband and children, and empowered by her accomplishments, Hollie's depression lifted, and she began to appreciate her natural beauty and new self. However, Hollie was still haunted by the loose skin, the effects of pregnancy on her body. She desperately desired to shed these leftovers as they did not reflect her newly found "beauty within."
